CPA in Tyler, Texas · Accounting & Advisory

Accounting and Advisory for East Texas business owners.

Two service lines, accounting and advisory, and four ways to engage. No tax preparation, no attest work. I work with your tax preparer, not against them.

Services

Your monthly close, run by a CPA rather than a bookkeeper. The general ledger kept current, the balance sheet reconciled line by line, and statements delivered on a fixed calendar date so you are never guessing at your position mid-quarter.

  • Monthly close and full balance-sheet reconciliation
  • Revenue and cost coding matched to how your business earns
  • Job costing, project, or departmental reporting where you need it
  • Financial statements issued by the 15th
  • Payables review, billing support, and year-end workpapers for your tax preparer

A standing seat at your leadership table for the financial side of the firm — the work a CFO does without the full-time salary. I work from your own numbers: what a job or engagement actually earned, what a hire actually costs, whether the pipeline supports the payroll you are about to sign.

  • Monthly review of results with the owners
  • Margin, pricing, and overhead analysis
  • 13-week cash forecast and distribution planning
  • Hiring and capacity modeling
  • Close-process and internal-control improvement

I do not prepare your tax return. That is the point.

This practice runs your books all year and works alongside your tax preparer. It never competes with them. You keep the CPA who files your return. I make sure that by the time they get the file, the books are closed, reconciled and supported.

If you are a CPA or EA with a client whose bookkeeping is holding up the return, I will take that work and send the return back to you. No exceptions.

Schedule of Fees

DIAGNOSTIC

$2,500 fixed

A two-week paid engagement. I review the books, the margins and the cash cycle, then deliver a written findings memo. The fee credits in full against your first three months if you start a retainer within 30 days.

ACCOUNTING

$1,250+ per month

Monthly close and full balance-sheet reconciliation. Revenue and cost coding aligned to how the business actually makes money. Job costing and departmental reporting. Financial statements by the 15th. Payables review and year-end support for your tax preparer.

BOOKS + CFO

Most common engagement

$3,500+ per month

Everything in Accounting, plus a monthly results review with the owner, margin and pricing analysis, 13-week cash forecasting, hiring and capacity modeling, and internal control work.

OPERATING PARTNER

$5,000+ per month

Everything in Books + CFO, on a weekly cadence. Board-style reporting, lender and banking support, and direct involvement in hiring, pricing and capital decisions.

Fixed monthly retainers, quoted in writing before any work begins. The plus sign reflects scope — entity count, transaction volume and headcount move the fee. You will know the number before you commit to anything.

Bookkeeping cleanup: a one-time fixed fee, quoted in writing after a free look at the books.

The Practice

I'll serve your company properly. Let's talk about how.

I am a Texas-registered Certified Public Accountant. I began in public accounting at a national firm, then spent several years managing financial reporting and controls at a large private company — where I owned the period-end close, prepared consolidated financial statements, and coordinated the annual audit.

That work — closing real books on a real deadline, then explaining the result to the people responsible for the outcome — is the whole of what this practice does for owner-led businesses. Uneven revenue, long sales-to-payment cycles, and partner or owner compensation are the ordinary conditions here, not exceptions.

The practice is deliberately narrow: Accounting and Advisory only. Your tax preparer and your auditor remain independent of me, and I work alongside them.
